About Us

We are a typical family, with full time jobs, an adult child and a 15-year old child, and we are located in the high country of NC. We breed as a hobby because we love the Pomeranian breed and want to preserve the breed, as well as, to produce show prospects for ourselves. In our opinion, a Pomeranian is the perfect pet. Not only are Pomeranians cute and fluffy, but they are also loyal, intelligent, easy to manage, and they make wonderful companions. We strive to produce well rounded and adjusted Pomeranians, with good temperament, happy and health, and in accordance to AKC and Canadian Kennel Club standards. All of our fur babies are AKC registered (some with multiple registrations), most with multiple champion bloodlines. Our ultimate goal is to breed happy, healthy Pomeranians, with good temperament (mind, body, and soul).

Our fur babies live with us, in our home, as part of our family. They eat with us, travel with us, and take part in outside activities, by our side. At night, there are Poms in our bed. Puppies are WELL socialized. We use the Bio Sensor Routine Method for maximum socialization and we start pee pad training at 3 weeks. Solid food is offered somewhere between 4-6 weeks, but we let our puppies wean naturally. We also have a school age child who interacts with the dogs regularly, under close supervision of course.

My husband and I grew up in households that love animals, both from horse showing homes, so we always had at least one family pet in the home or farm animals in the barn (dogs, cats, horses, cows, chickens, strays, wild animals nursed back to health, and other farm animals). Our love for the Pomeranian breed began about 27 years ago, with a pet Pom named Toby. Toby was a special little guy and we were blessed to have had him in our lives for 20 years.

*Note: Puppies and small dogs should NEVER be left alone with children, especially if under 15 years of age. ALWAYS supervise children with animals, no matter what kind or how "responsible" the child may seem. Puppies are not unlike a newborn baby. They are fragile, need constant care, and will require puppy-proofing of your home. * Take precaution if you have a high bed because they can fall out and get hurt. We do not recommend letting Poms on furniture or in bed until at least 4lbs. and/or one year of age. Instead, place his/her bed or crate next to the bed, sit on your lap (holding on), etc. Safety first!

We do not let our puppies leave our home until they are at least  10 weeks of age, usually 10-15 weeks. They may need to stay longer i.e. 15-16 weeks if very small. If you require a puppy to travel, the puppy must be at least 2 lbs. and 12 weeks (min.) of age to ensure safety. We welcome you to come and pick up your puppy from our home or we may be able to meet you somewhere convenient.

Puppies will come with either limited AKC registration (for approved pet/companion homes; this just means no breeding), with the requirement to spay/neuter, or show prospects with full AKC registration (for approved show homes). Why? What is the difference between a show prospect and a pet companion? The difference is often times not a concern unless you are planning to breed (which should be to standard). Possible reasons: The female might be too small for breeding (which could cause harm or death), the male might only have one testicle descended, the color pattern might be unique, skin pigmentation might not be the standard color, bite/teeth might not be perfect, size might be too small or too large for the show ring, etc. Please let us know whether you are looking for a pet companion or plan to show/breed, so we can help you to decide which type of registration is appropriate for your needs. Since we are trying to better the Pom breed, we will not sell what we consider to be a pet companion for breeding. We register ALL of our puppies.

Rest assured our puppies will be vet checked and up-to-date with their shots. You will receive a copy of the vet report/shot record, registration, sample of food, and information package. Pet companions come with limited registration, with a requirement to spay/neuter. If purchasing a show prospect, we recommend obtaining a certified pedigree, which we can obtain for you during registration, but it is an extra cost, currently $35. Just let us know if you want us to order one for you.

Why do we personally exhibit/breed? We love the Pomeranian breed and want to preserve/improve the breed (there are a lot of poorly-bred Poms out there) and showing our Poms is a hobby for us. It can be fun (though very expensive) to travel to new places/camp, meet/visit with other Pom enthusiasts, compete, and show our beautiful Poms to the general public. Showing dogs can also be a rewarding hobby for children. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in learning more about showing dogs. We can help to connect you with seasoned exhibitors, with years of show experience.

Dangers for Pomeranians

Pomeranians are small and will require you to puppy proof your home. Just like a toddler, take note puppies will try to eat just about everything that will fit in their mouths. Also, do not place them where they can fall off and get injured. It is best to not allow puppies on furniture/bed until they AT LEAST 4lbs. and AT LEAST 1 year of age.

*Note: Puppies and small dogs should NEVER be left alone with children under 12 years of age. ALWAYS supervise children with animals, no matter what kind. Puppies are not unlike a newborn baby.

Did you know????

*There is no such thing as a teacup Pom!

*The merle pattern has a much higher chance of having health problems. Merles should never be bred with another merle or white/cream. Far too often backyard breeders breed merles to phantom merles (merles that do not look merle and must be genetic tested) and the result is a blind, deaf, or both blind and deaf litter of puppies.

*Blue eyes (or any speck of blue in the eyes at all) is a disqualification.

We are a very small in-home hobby show home, focusing on preservation breeding to keep the special qualities that make a Pomeranian a Pomeranian. We strive to produce happy, healthy family members first and foremost. We only offer puppies as beloved pet companions to responsible families or as show prospects for approved, experienced show homes, NOT for backyard breeding or mixed breeding! All potential homes are heavily screened and background checked. Generally, puppies go home at 10 weeks. If a puppy is on the smaller side, he/she will stay longer (usually 12-14 weeks). Show prospects usually stay with us until 16-24 weeks.

Potty Training

Potty training a puppy is much like potty training a toddler. A puppy will need to go pee-pee often and taken to the same place to go potty. This instills repetition and confidence. Puppies have very small bladders! After each meal and nap, you will need to offer the puppy a chance to relieve him/herself. If you are unable to do this due to work, school, etc., I suggest using an enclosed crate and/or pee-pee pads until you get home and continue the training. It is not uncommon for a Pom (especially a smaller one) to not fully potty train until around 6 months of age. The larger ones tend to potty train easier because they have larger bladders.

Love...love...love...pets

Do your part and do not purchase from a puppy mill or backyard breeder. These animals live horrible lives and you may end up with a mentally disturbed animal. We DO NOT sell to puppy mills or backyard/mix breeders, only approved pet/companion and approved show/hobby homes.

If buying online, We recommend you NOT wire money or use a cash service, etc. Instead, insist on paying via PayPal, which is much safer and provides a record to help protect you. Or, send a personal check (note, it will need to clear prior to receiving a puppy). There are A LOT of puppy buyer scammers as well, so we have to protect ourselves as well.

Be Choosy (and be careful); Do not get swindled!

Far too often we see VERY poorly bred Poms being sold by backyard breeders and puppy mills, sometimes for cheap prices and other times for the same price as quality bred Poms, putting bad genes into the gene pool and giving Poms a bad reputation for health issues. While affordability is always a consideration (and it should be) please, please be careful. Often times, these breeders are uneducated about the breed and are breeding already poorly bred Poms together, most times mixed with other breeds in their pedigree. A trained eye can often tell this by just a photo, but an unsuspecting family might not be able to spot this. Other breeds in the pedigree brings character flaws in the overall temperament.

**Note: If a breeder is advertising a puppy with no AKC registration papers, and it is an AKC recognized breed...RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! This will mean either 1) there is mixed breeding, health issues with the parents,  the female and/or male is/are too young to breed and the puppies cannot be registered with the AKC, or there is close in-breeding, 2) the backyard breeder is most likely a puppy mill and is breeding too often, in poor conditions and he/she does not want to be inspected, or 3) the breeder is very unethical and is under a spay/neuter contract that does not allow breeding of the pet companion male and/or female Pom that he/she just bred (often for good reason). *It is perfectly fine to supply registration papers after PROOF of spay/neuter because there are a lot of horrible, dishonest people out there.

**Do your part and do not contribute to this unethical practice. Learn as much as you can and be proactive. Together, we can improve the breed. :)
