About Us

We are a typical family, with full time jobs, an adult child and a 13-year old child, and we are located in the high country of NC. We breed as a hobby because we love the Pomeranian breed and want to preserve the breed, as well as, to produce show prospects for ourselves. In our opinion, a Pomeranian is the perfect pet. Not only are Pomeranians cute and fluffy, but they are also loyal, intelligent, easy to manage, and they make wonderful companions. We strive to produce well rounded and adjusted Pomeranians, with good temperament, happy and health, and in accordance to AKC and Canadian Kennel Club standards. All of our fur babies are AKC registered (some with multiple registrations), most with multiple champion bloodlines. Our ultimate goal is to breed happy, healthy Pomeranians, with good temperament (mind, body, and soul).

Our fur babies live with us, in our home, as part of our family. They eat with us, travel with us, and take part in outside activities, by our side. At night, there are Poms in our bed. Puppies are WELL socialized. We use the Bio Sensor Routine Method for maximum socialization and we start pee pad training at 3 weeks. Solid food is offered somewhere between 4-6 weeks, but we let our puppies wean naturally. We also have a school age child who interacts with the dogs regularly, under close supervision of course.

My husband and I grew up in households that love animals, both from horse showing homes, so we always had at least one family pet in the home or farm animals in the barn (dogs, cats, horses, cows, chickens, strays, wild animals nursed back to health, and other farm animals). Our love for the Pomeranian breed began about 27 years ago, with a pet Pom named Toby. Toby was a special little guy and we were blessed to have had him in our lives for 20 years.

*Note: Puppies and small dogs should NEVER be left alone with children, especially if under 15 years of age. ALWAYS supervise children with animals, no matter what kind or how "responsible" the child may seem. Puppies are not unlike a newborn baby. They are fragile, need constant care, and will require puppy-proofing of your home. * Take precaution if you have a high bed because they can fall out and get hurt. We do not recommend letting Poms on furniture or in bed until at least 4lbs. and/or one year of age. Instead, place his/her bed or crate next to the bed, sit on your lap (holding on), etc. Safety first!

We do not let our puppies leave our home until they are at least  10 weeks of age, usually 10-15 weeks. They may need to stay longer i.e. 15-16 weeks if very small. If you require a puppy to travel, the puppy must be at least 2 lbs. and 12 weeks (min.) of age to ensure safety. We welcome you to come and pick up your puppy from our home or we may be able to meet you somewhere convenient.

Puppies will come with either limited AKC registration (for approved pet/companion homes; this just means no breeding), with the requirement to spay/neuter, or show prospects with full AKC registration (for approved show homes). Why? What is the difference between a show prospect and a pet companion? The difference is often times not a concern unless you are planning to breed (which should be to standard). Possible reasons: The female might be too small for breeding (which could cause harm or death), the male might only have one testicle descended, the color pattern might be unique, skin pigmentation might not be the standard color, bite/teeth might not be perfect, size might be too small or too large for the show ring, etc. Please let us know whether you are looking for a pet companion or plan to show/breed, so we can help you to decide which type of registration is appropriate for your needs. Since we are trying to better the Pom breed, we will not sell what we consider to be a pet companion for breeding. We register ALL of our puppies.

Rest assured our puppies will be vet checked and up-to-date with their shots. You will receive a copy of the vet report/shot record, registration, sample of food, and information package. Pet companions come with limited registration, with a requirement to spay/neuter. If purchasing a show prospect, we recommend obtaining a certified pedigree, which we can obtain for you during registration, but it is an extra $35. Just let us know if you want us to order one for you.

Why do we personally exhibit/breed? We love the Pomeranian breed and want to preserve/improve the breed (there are a lot of poorly-bred Poms out there) and showing our Poms is a hobby for us. It can be fun (though very expensive) to travel to new places/camp, meet/visit with other Pom enthusiasts, compete, and show our beautiful Poms to the general public. Showing dogs can also be a rewarding hobby for children. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in learning more about showing dogs. We can help to connect you with seasoned exhibitors, with years of show experience.

Get Involved and Have Fun with Your Dog!

*Note: All AKC registered dogs (incl. ltd.) can participate in AKC events, except conformation. There are many events to choose from i.e. rally, trick dog, dock diving, Fast CAT, barn hunt, etc. There is something for everyone. Get out and have fun with your fur babies!

Our Family/Poms (most are candid snapshots/cell photos in natural state/ungroomed, not posed).

Theo - Our handsome, sweet, sweet boy (wonderful lines - LOTS of champions in his pedigee!) He is our foundation here and is the great grandson of the most famous Pom in history, Pufpride Sweet Dreams aka "Parker." According to some, this is one of the most sought after bloodlines in the world, not just U.S., but world. Even without grooming, he is simply stunning! He has a FANTASTIC, thick, proper/harsh coat and excellent temperament. He is perfectly square, with shorter back and great bone; he is quite sturdy. (Eyes: Normal, Heart: Normal - OFA Cert. #PN-ACA49/52M-VPI & PN-EYE499/52M-VPI). He was Embark genetic tested and tested clear of breed relevant conditions.

GCH Decker, Theo's son - Our bred-by AKC Grand Champion, IABCA International Honors Bronze Champion, IABCA Gold Cup winner, multiple AKC Best of Breed wins, and multiple AKC OH Group placements. He is a multi-champion producer and sire to both Rebel and Friday. He earned his AKC Trick Dog Novice title as well. He is such a sweet boy and is smart as can be! As a puppy, he earned his International and National Baby Puppy Championships (earning the highest ratings and wonderful comments from all judges). He won multiple Bred-by Best in Shows as a young guy. (many shows were canceled due to Covid). He was awarded Best of Breed from the classes over a bronze grand champion, was 2nd in his class at the 2020 American Pomeranian Club Nationals, and was the 2020 AKC National Championships Best Bred-By Pomeranian. He has a fantastic temperament, high set ears, short back, level/sturdy topline, cat paws, excellent layback, self stacker, and he covers ground very well, with excellent reach and drive. We just love his small, impish face and stature...classic English Pomeranian type, which we love. (Eyes: Normal PN-EYE729/29M-VPI, Heart: Normal PN-BCA86/28M/C-VPI, Patellar: 0/0 PN-PA1142/29M/P-VPI - OFA CHIC #158590). Thank you so much breeder Judge Ann Barryman! In the 6-9 month puppy class, he was BOBOH and awarded an OH Group 2 at only 7 months old! At just 10 months old, he finished his AKC Championship, going BOB over some really nice champions in VA. He is a multi Toy Group winner, has multiple Toy Group placements, many BOB wins, and multiple OH Group wins and placements. We expect great things from him in the coming years, when he matures. Hope (AKC pointed, 4pts.) was bred by C. Goodin and K. Finley. She was Best of Winners and Opposite Sex her first time at an all-breed show. She has a nice structure and a very high ear set; they touch when she is at full attention! She has a beautiful pedigree; her sire is GCH Devlin, GCH Broccoli is her uncle (her dam is his littermate), and GCH Cujo is her grandsire, all stunning dogs. She hails from the old Great Elms line, preserving the traditional Pom qualities. She was Embark genetic tested and tested clear of all breed relevant conditions. GCH Stash was bred in Brazil by C. and G. Fernandez and finished his AKC championship and grand championship very quickly. His sire is a Best in Show winner in multiple countries, a champion in Brazil and the U.S. and was the 2019 American Pomeranian Club National Specialty Best of Breed winner under respected Pomeranian breeder judge, Edd Bivin. He has an extremely dense, harsh correct coat, high set ears, a wonderful/sweet personality, and moves beautifully. He will be teaming up with our son to show in junior handling. Thank you so much D. Breeze - Breeze is a multiple CH producer and dam (mother) to Jedi and Friday. She has a fantastic pedigree with lots of champions in multiple countries. Her sire, a gorgeous black and tan, is a champion in both Russia and Bulgaria. She is a sweet girl and loves to sit in laps. She had not been trimmed and had just blown her coat in these pictures. Breeze was imported as she carries good bloodlines. She has more of a traditional look to her, as most German European Poms (where the breed originated from), with almond shaped eyes and high set ears. She is a wonderful and loving/caring mommy. (OFA tested, Eyes: Normal PN-EYE728/39F-VPI, Heart: Normal PN-BCA85/39F/C-VPI, Patellar: 0/0) She was Embark genetic tested and tested clear.

Windy was pointed at 6 mos. of age, is major pointed, and has 11 AKC points under her belt. She lacks only a 4-pt. major to finish her CH. She is currently coating back up after her year old coat blow. She was bred by us and is one of our show hopefuls. She won WB and OS her first show and went Best of Winners and Best Puppy recently in VA, over a number of adults, including the Best in Sweepstakes winner at the 2022 American Pomeranian Nationals.

Dangers for Pomeranians

Pomeranians are small and will require you to puppy proof your home. Just like a toddler, take note puppies will try to eat just about everything that will fit in their mouths. Also, do not place them where they can fall off and get injured. It is best to not allow puppies on furniture/bed until they AT LEAST 4lbs. and AT LEAST 1 year of age.

*Note: Puppies and small dogs should NEVER be left alone with children under 12 years of age. ALWAYS supervise children with animals, no matter what kind. Puppies are not unlike a newborn baby.

Did you know????

*There is no such thing as a teacup Pom!

*The merle pattern has a much higher chance of having health problems. Merles should never be bred with another merle or white/cream. Far too often backyard breeders breed merles to phantom merles (merles that do not look merle and must be genetic tested) and the result is a blind, deaf, or both blind and deaf litter of puppies.

*Blue eyes (or any speck of blue in the eyes at all) is a disqualification.

We are a very small in-home hobby show home, focusing on preservation breeding to keep the special qualities that make a Pomeranian a Pomeranian. We strive to produce happy, healthy family members first and foremost. We only offer puppies as beloved pet companions to responsible families or as show prospects for approved, experienced show homes, NOT for backyard breeding or mixed breeding! All potential homes are heavily screened and background checked. Generally, puppies go home at 10 weeks. If a puppy is on the smaller side, he/she will stay longer (usually 12-14 weeks). Show prospects usually stay with us until 16-24 weeks.

Potty Training

Potty training a puppy is much like potty training a toddler. A puppy will need to go pee-pee often and taken to the same place to go potty. This instills repetition and confidence. Puppies have very small bladders! After each meal and nap, you will need to offer the puppy a chance to relieve him/herself. If you are unable to do this due to work, school, etc., I suggest using an enclosed crate and/or pee-pee pads until you get home and continue the training. It is not uncommon for a Pom (especially a smaller one) to not fully potty train until around 6 months of age. The larger ones tend to potty train easier because they have larger bladders.

Love...love...love...pets

Do your part and do not purchase from a puppy mill or backyard breeder. These animals live horrible lives and you may end up with a mentally disturbed animal. We DO NOT sell to puppy mills or backyard/mix breeders, only approved pet/companion and approved show/hobby homes.

If buying online, We recommend you NOT wire money or use a cash service, etc. Instead, insist on paying via PayPal, which is much safer and provides a record to help protect you. Or, send a personal check (note, it will need to clear prior to receiving a puppy). There are A LOT of puppy buyer scammers as well, so we have to protect ourselves as well.

Be Choosy (and be careful); Do not get swindled!

Far too often we see VERY poorly bred Poms being sold by backyard breeders and puppy mills, sometimes for cheap prices and other times for the same price as quality bred Poms, putting bad genes into the gene pool and giving Poms a bad reputation for health issues. While affordability is always a consideration (and it should be) please, please be careful. Often times, these breeders are uneducated about the breed and are breeding already poorly bred Poms together, most times mixed with other breeds in their pedigree. A trained eye can often tell this by just a photo, but an unsuspecting family might not be able to spot this. Other breeds in the pedigree brings character flaws in the overall temperament.

**Note: If a breeder is advertising a puppy with no AKC registration papers, and it is an AKC recognized breed...RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! This will mean either 1) there is mixed breeding, health issues with the parents,  the female and/or male is/are too young to breed and the puppies cannot be registered with the AKC, or there is close in-breeding, 2) the backyard breeder is most likely a puppy mill and is breeding too often, in poor conditions and he/she does not want to be inspected, or 3) the breeder is very unethical and is under a spay/neuter contract that does not allow breeding of the pet companion male and/or female Pom that he/she just bred (often for good reason). *It is perfectly fine to supply registration papers after PROOF of spay/neuter because there are a lot of horrible, dishonest people out there.

**Do your part and do not contribute to this unethical practice. Learn as much as you can and be proactive. Together, we can improve the breed. :)
